ArtBash is a celebratory exhibition in the Spring for Contemporary Practices (CP) students in their first year of undergraduate studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC).
For this client, it is integral to showcase an identity that works across a wide interdisciplinary range of artistic media that appeals and relates to all CP students.
INSIGHT
First-year art students are simultaneously expressive and highly impressionable. The goal was to encapsulate raw expression meeting malleable environment. CP classes are a time for students to discover their
individuality within their work. It is a time for exploration and experimentation.
Within these classes students are being bold and exploratory, yet they also have the ability to be shaped and molded. For the ArtBash identity,
the energetic quality of the paint shows bursting expression, while the smooth gradient in the background calls back to the environment in which the students are being shaped.
The contrast between the gradient and the brush strokes create a dynamic that is bold, unbound, and complex.
TARGET AUDIENCE
CP students, SAIC students & faculty, art lovers, general public.
DELIVERABLES
ArtBash identity including one main event poster, 7 due date posters, social media & OOH advertising, wayfinding.
