This artist book, highlighting graphic designer Cipe Pineles, was created to showcase the designer's life and the accomplishments throughout her career. As a pioneer for graphic design in the 1900s with elegant layout and editorial design, Cipe Pineles is a creative that I admire. With this artist book the typographic style represents the magazine editorial look while also incorporating her rustic gouache illustrations. The look and feel of the book is inspired by her editorial designs, such as using Abril Fatface as a display font and a 2-column grid system. This book includes font matter, a timeline, and back matter that is structured around a grid system. The timeline is extended across the book which breaks into page headers to represent the length and quality of the Pineles' career. The result – a "mini-magazine" style book which spans 58 total spreads.
