Sparked from my love of thrifting, this clothing archive is a narrative of the different outfits I style. The clothing drawer card holder is inspired from vintage recipe card boxes with a spin on clothing. Within the 10 unique outfit header cards, each item of clothing has its own card describing where I got it, who I got it with, and how I imagine the history of it to be. There are also cards describing the whole outfit and why I wear it and what it reminds me of. The box was also thrifted for this project and was revamped from a jewelry box to an outfit card holder. This involved stripping the varnish from the wood and sanding it down, creating a stencil for the title and filling it in with a marker, and then staining and sealing the wood.
Here are some close-ups of the individual item cards, front and back. To make them cohesive, the backs of the cards (in gray) have all of the
pieces from the entire outfit to easily categorize them, illustrated via Adobe Illustrator. The selected clothing item that the card is describing
is highlighted on the back as well. Between the 10 outfits I designed 50 of these cards that are nested within the header cards.
Below is a photo of the header cards. They are folded in an envelope style which holds the individual item cards.
